Jet Ski Shelling to Keewaydin Island with Cam & Ali!
GUIDED JET SKI
SHELLING TOUR
KEEWAYDIN ISLAND
5HR shared

Join us for an exhilarating guided jet ski adventure to the picturesque Keewaydin Island, led by our experienced guides, Cam of BluWater Rentals and Ali of SWFL Shell Guide! This thrilling excursion is all about shelling and kicks off with the launch of our jet skis from Goodland Boat Park. Get ready for a shelltastic journey through the backwaters culminating at the southern tip of Keewaydin!

As we navigate these scenic waters, you might be lucky enough to encounter playful dolphins, graceful manatees, majestic eagles, and soaring osprey. The jet ski ride to our destination takes approximately 45 minutes each way, providing us with ample time to enjoy over 3.5 hours of shelling.

Upon arrival at Keewaydin Island, we'll secure the jet skis and dive into the exciting task of collecting shells. Keewaydin Island boasts a rich diversity of plant and animal life, including the magnificent sea turtles. Depending on the season, you might even have the opportunity to witness sea turtle nests during our visit.

The entire experience typically lasts about five hours, with factors like wind conditions, currents, and the jet ski's pace (please note there are several idle speed zones on this route) influencing the duration.

This is a dedicated shelling tour with the added thrill of arriving by jet ski! Feel free to gather any empty shells you discover along the way. Please keep in mind that shell availability can vary greatly due to factors like weather, wind, tides, and other natural conditions. If conditions permit, we may even snorkel or swim for shells, although rest assured, we only offer this tour on select hand-picked dates where the tide is low enough to ensure a comfortable shelling experience for swimmers and non-swimmers alike. So, get ready for a shelltastic adventure you won't forget!

WHAT TO BRING

-
LONG-SLEEVE WATER SHIRT
-
WATER SHOES
-
SUNSCREEN
-
SUNGLASSES
-
HAT
-
PREFERRED FOOD/SNACKS (no large coolers)
-
PLASTIC BOX FOR FRAGILE FINDS (OPTIONAL)
There's no shade from the blazing sun on the island or sand flats! Be sure to bring sun protection: long-sleeve water shirt, lotion, cream, sunglasses, hats, even an umbrella to create your own shade if needed - whatever you use!

Of course, feel free to bring your own desired food and beverages.
No tools are really necessary, but you're free to bring your preferred shelling tools such as rakes, snorkels, goggles, etc!
If you love fragile beach finds (sand dollars, urchins, crab carapaces) you'll want to keep them separate from the shells which can easily break them. Bring a plastic box to keep the fragile stuff safe!

Good idea to bring insect repellent if those pesky mosquitos and no-seeums love you. These can be problematic during very early morning or near-sunset evening times of day, and seem to be especially bad at the boat ramp, but not so much while out shelling.

Everything you could possibly need for the tour can be purchased at the Ships Store right there at the Goodland Boat Ramp parking lot!

Check out a few of my fav shelling gear, tools, products, and displays listed HERE! (Not necessary to bring with you, but helpful if you want your own or to know where I got mine!)
